Hello to all of you. I am looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming May conference at the Crowne Plaza here in Springfield. I wanted to send you a note to let you know that the content of the Tuesday, May 4 training will be on the topic of appeals. Fourth District Presiding Justice Sue E. Myerscough will be our guest presenter along with a welcome that morning from Honorable Juleann Hornyak, Clerk of the Supreme Court.
Following Justice Myerscough's presentation, we will have all five Appellate District Clerks/chief deputies as panelists to discuss the nuts and bolts of preparation of the appeal record and related matters. I encourage those of you who are able to bring your appeals staff to do so. We will break into groups by district for the second half of the morning so that the districts can gather with their own Appellate Clerk. Bring your questions!
I have attached a draft agenda. There may be a few minor changes to this before May 4, but it will be substantially the same as far as content. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
