"Warren County Circuit Clerk Jill Morris, 50, Monmouth, died early Sunday morning at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Morris had been diagnosed with cancer just two weeks ago and had undergone her first chemotherapy treatment last Thursday, said Warren County Treasurer Nancy Clayton, a longtime friend and colleague.
“She will be truly missed,” Clayton said. “She was a great asset to county government.”
Morris was a respected clerk not only in the Ninth Judicial Circuit, but across the state, said Chief Judge Stephen C. Mathers.
Mathers has appointed Chief Deputy Clerk Denise Schreck to fill the position temporarily. The chairman of the Warren County Board — with the advice and consent of the board — has 60 days to appoint someone to permanently fill the remainder of Morris’ term, which ends this year.
Memorial services for Morris will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, with the Rev. Jon Sims of First United Methodist Church of Monmouth officiating. Cremation has been accorded. A private family committal in New Windsor Cemetery will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Western Illinois Animal Rescue or the Warren County Relay for Life."

Dear Fellow Clerks,
It is with great sadness and heavy heart that I report that Jill Morris,
Fellow Clerks,
David Hitchcock retired from the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts on Friday, May 30, 2008. David was Circuit Court Clerk in Menard County from 1984 - 1996. He served as President for IACC in 1990. David's contribution to the Circuit Court Clerks of Illinois as an advocate for a partnership between the AOIC and Court Clerks made our jobs much easier. The Fines and Fees Manual was developed under his leadership.
The Office of the Illinois State Treasurer has revised the Circuit Clerk Remittance Form. The revision adds the new Sex Offender Investigation Fund. The revised form can be accessed at the following link: http://www.treasurer.il.gov/finances/ffrf/CircuitClerkRemittanceForm-IAForm.pdf
For details on the Sex Offender Investigation Fund, please refer to Public Act 095-0600: http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/publicacts/fulltext.asp?Name=095-0600&GA=095
I know a lot of you have been calling and emailing with questions about Jill but I was waiting until she met with her Doctors yesterday to see the avenue of approach.
Jill has been diagnosed with kidney cancer that started in the kidney and has moved outside of the kidney. She is starting aggressive chemotherapy today and will have one treatment per week for two weeks and then off a week.
But, to complicate this, their main concern now is that there is a nonmalignant tumor on the vein from the kidney to the heart which is feeding off of the cancer. If the tumor would turn slightly it would tear the vein and of course take her life. That is why they have started chemo is to try stop the cancer from feeding the tumor. Surgery is not an option. The goal of her medical team is to make Jill as comfortable as can be.
I just wanted to let you know that yesterday after work Jill Morris called me and told me that she has been diagnosed with cancer. They know at this point that it is in her uterus, kidney and liver. They do not know where it started at and what type of cancer they are dealing with. Today she is having a CT scan and will be having further testing to find out as much as they can and start treatment as soon as possible. All Jill is asking for right now is for every one to please keep her and her family in your prayers. Denise or myself will try to keep every one informed as we find out more information.Sincerely,Sandra KeaneHenderson County
To all Circuit Court Clerks: Just a note to let you all know that Sheila Schipper (Whiteside County Circuit Court Clerk) found out a day or so after her return from the Conference in Springfield that she has to have quadruple bi-pass surgery. As you may know, Sheila has diabetes, and this has apparently caused a buildup of plaque in her arteries.
Sheila's surgery is scheduled for Friday, May 16th. Her home address is:
